House of Mark, formerly a manse, open all year round and set within two acres at the foot of the Cairngorms National Park. Visit Glen Esk, the longest and most easterly of the Angus Glens and explore our beautiful property and the surrounding areas.

What could be better than waking up in a comfy bed, before tucking into a full Scottish breakfast? House of Mark has double and twin bedded rooms en-suite or private bathrooms. Each room is welcoming and has everything to make a comfortable homely stay!

House of Mark has a  dining area which is ideal for sharing meals, celebrations or meetings. Whilst enjoying your meals in our Dining Room (in front of the log fire when it gets chilly) the view will afford you glimpses of the varied wildlife.

House of Mark overlooks the Water of Mark and adjoining with the Water of Lee forms the North Esk, the renowned salmon and sea trout river

The water of Mark

Glenesk has a rich natural history. Many animal species are to be seen like hares. Mountain hares live in Scotland and the North. They are grey-brown with a blue tinge in summer and turn white during the winter – only their ear tips stay black.
